One month ago the Broadway year 8 boys competed at Alexander Stadium against all local schools in Aston and managed to qualify for the Birmingham final. The final took place on Thursday 21st June. Twenty schools were there, all of which had qualified by winning their local competitions. In a field littered with grammar and private schools, Broadway rose above the field to finish an amazing second place and take silver medals!

It was outstanding to see Broadway get the better of all these schools in what was such a popular and hotly contested event. Kihone and Thanbir, who are members of Birchfield Harriers, led the way with excellent performances in the sprints and shot put, followed by another superb performance by Salman in the 800m. Zuheib, Sufiyan and Tayeeb followed up with more points, providing key performances.

Kihone and Thanbir continue to train with  Birchfield and look forward to their national final in Cardiff next month!  All the teachers and students are wishing them the best of luck.
