Student Leadership

School Council

The school council at Broadway is very active, running projects and implementing changes within pupils’ individual areas of expertise. There are wellbeing prefects, co-curricular prefects and academic prefects. Everyone on the council has undertaken a continued leadership programme. As well as growing together as leaders and meeting once a week as a team, each individual group works as a team on their own projects.

Wellbeing Prefects

We are here to help with pupils’ wellbeing and set a good example. We work with students to help them overcome issues and remain in a good state of mind to come and learn. We are also working on a safe-space and have completed qualifications on how to help people with their wellbeing. Each year group has wellbeing prefects from the year group above, that are there to help pupils when times get hard.

Co-curricular Prefects

Our main goal is to ensure everyone has a fun experience at Broadway and develops their character outside of the classroom. We ensure there are a healthy number of extracurricular clubs and trips on offer. This includes speaking to teaching staff about the best way to use Island Pool within the curriculum. We are continually working on improving the enrichment experience for all students at the school.

Academic Prefects

We are here to support students that need a bit of extra help in some of their subjects. We provide 1-2-1 support to help you understand things you might be struggling with and improve your grades. We all have different subjects that are considered our specialisms. We work with the Heads of Department in those subjects, to identify and support those students that need help and get them back on track.
