Broadway students, staff and governors (including the Headmaster and Chair of Governors) attend the APPG committee on RE at Westminster.

Mr Skelton, in his address said:-

Broadway Academy an inner city school 11-18 with 1300 students which serves students from one of the most deprived wards in Europe. We have in attendance the Chair of Governors Hon Alderman Alan Rudge, community governor Guy Hordern, Head of RE Prab Mann and three students. 

Our aim at Broadway is to develop students for life.

Broadway Academy operates within the parameters of the law.

The law: Section 78(1) 2002 Act:

(a) promotes the spiritual, moral, cultural, mental and physical development of pupils at the school and of society, and 

(b) prepares pupils at the school for the opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences of life

We prepare students for life  through a distinctive approach to education. We have our own working farm and outdoor education Centre an hour away, we have extensive sports, arts, music and extra curricular programme. Students love coming Broadway, they feel safe, and excel academically. We are in the top 10% of schools nationally for attendance and GSSE exam results and in the top 2% of school (according to PISA DATA) for students hope and optimism.

We  have a vibrant curriculum a distinctive aspect of which is Religious Education. 

Religion and Education have long had a close relationship. We know that life is not linear. RE helps students to explore the paradoxes and mysteries of faith and life, I believe, resulting in resilient students.
