I would like to inform you that all students will be breaking up for the summer holiday on Friday 18th July 2025 at 12.30pm. Thank you for your support during the academic year 2024-2025.
Students will be returning to school on the following dates as there will be INSET days on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd September:

Expectations regarding students’ school equipment and uniform
At Broadway Academy, we are committed to helping our students achieve the best possible exam results and also to build their self-reliance and independence for later in life. An important element in achieving this is ensuring that all students come to school with the correct equipment and the vast majority succeed in doing this. At a time when you may be considering replacing items of equipment/uniform we want to remind you of the requirements.
Expectations:
- Students bring a suitable bag/rucksack to school daily and take responsibility for their school equipment.
- Students have a properly stocked pencil case and their school planner in each lesson. The pencil case should have at least the minimum equipment, comprising two pens, a pencil, ruler, rubber and sharpener.
- Students have the correct uniform (see details below). Please follow the guidance on what is acceptable uniform and do not purchase “skinny” trousers, “ankle grazers” or any other clothing/footwear that does not fulfil the requirements below. Students will not be allowed to wear non-uniform items which could potentially cause extra expense for you.
Please ensure that your child:
- Has an appropriate school bag for their equipment.
- Develops a routine at home where the bag is packed the night before.
- Has a properly stocked pencil case.
- Wears the correct uniform which follows the Academy’s dress code.
We would like to thank all you for your support in ensuring that your children meet our expectations.
To support the equipment checks, the school will:
- Provide personalised support to students who need it.
- Ensure that form tutors and Student Support Assistants and Managers check that the basic requirements regarding equipment are met every morning.
- Implement sanctions for students who cannot meet this basic requirement for schooling

Whilst these measures may seem small, they will go a long way to help build students’ self-reliance, responsibility and organisation. They will also promote continued opportunities for you to be actively involved in your child’s learning.

We continue to collect old school uniform, blazers, trousers, jumpers, and PE kit. If you do have any old uniform, please bring it to reception.
Results Day Year 12/13
Results Day for our Year 12/13 students is on Thursday 14th August and students will be able to pick up their results between 8am – 10am.
If students are unable to collect results, they may nominate someone to collect them on their behalf. Email consent MUST be provided by the student to d.masterson@broadway-academy.co.uk BEFORE results day. The nominated person must bring photo ID on the day.
Please note results cannot be given out without student consent nor by telephone.
We hope that results day for our students is a day of celebration and recognition for their hard work, however, staff will be available to support students with any queries or concerns they may have.

Sixth Form Enrolment
Enrolment for the Broadway Academy Sixth Form is on the same day as GCSE results day and will take place between 8am – 11.30am. After collecting results students who are intending to enroll at Broadway Sixth Form will be able to make their way to a computer room (R2) to complete the enrolment process. Students who do not enroll on this day are NOT guaranteed places on courses. Parents/Carers and students will receive further information regarding the enrolment process directly from the Sixth Form team.
Students not enrolling
The careers advisor will be on hand to support students who are unsure of their next steps or those who need additional advice and guidance.
Academic Information
Year 11 pupils will have mock exams in September, so it is important that summer homework is completed. Mock exams help to prepare for the summer 2026 exams and help to inform predicted grades which are used by the Sixth Form team and asked for by colleges.
For other year groups, the best advice is to focus on reading for pleasure. You will know your child’s reading age, but you may not know that to access a GCSE exam paper, you need a reading age of 16. Please read the reading letter which gives lots of guidance for parents so that you can support this. From an academic perspective, this is the best thing you can do as a parent. Not supporting your child to become a better reader may result in them underachieving in all their subjects.
