Broadway Academy was a pioneer, in 2010, for the ‘Kicks’ programme in Birmingham. We have an established, long and excellent relationship with our local football club – Aston Villa. It is fantastic that AVFC are so involved in their local community. How could the members of the Young Men’s Bible Class who decided to found the Aston Villa (Wesleyan) Football team in 1874, possibly have guessed that AVFC would emerge as one of England’s finest clubs known for their creative, skilful and entertaining football? Thank God for football!

Broadway Academy runs a multitude of football clubs for girls and boys.  We are a football ‘Hub’ for Perry Barr and Aston. As well as many school teams, Broadway Raiders, set up by Mr Robbins (Broadway PE teacher) has teams in the Midland leagues. Broadway Raiders FC gives boys from the inner city – Broadway and other schools– the opportunity to play competitive football at the weekends. This is an example of living out the Broadway value of Generosity.
