Broadway Academy Student Charter for Success
Broadway Academy Student Charter for Success
The aim of this document is to give every one of our students at Broadway Academy the confidence and reassurance to return onsite to continue their education. As a community we all need to acknowledge and accept that routines and structures – who we will learn with, how we learn and where we will learn will be very different at Broadway over the next few months. It is the duty of all staff and students to ensure that everyone’s right to feel and be safe while at the Academy is a priority for all. This Charter, therefore, sets out the Health and safety, Behaviour and Wellbeing expectations for students .
Whilst at school it is essential that you follow this charter so that you, other and other students and staff are safe.
Staff fully understand that for many of us spending time with our friends is important and they will endeavour to find creative ways to support this communication.
The Charter states that:
Whilst at school it is essential that you follow this charter so that you, other and other students and staff are safe.
Staff fully understand that for many of us spending time with our friends is important and they will endeavour to find creative ways to support this communication.
The Charter states that:
- Prior to coming to school on a given day I will be clear that I am well and not showing any symptoms that may indicate I could have Coronavirus.
- Each day I will ensure that I arrive in fresh clothes
- On entering the building, I will thoroughly wash or sanitise my hands. Throughout the day I will wash/sanitise my hands when asked to do so for everyone’s safety.
- On each day the location, routine or lessons may change (where possible, this will be shared with me in advance), so I will need to listen to the particular member of staff who will give me the relevant instructions and procedures to follow.
- If at any time I do not understand what has been asked of me I will ask for clarification.
- When I am shown to my particular working space, I will maintain the 2 metre distancing and remain in this space due to health and safety guidance . This is important as your work station will have been cleaned
- Remain at your work station at all times unless agreed by staff that you will be able to move.
- I will always politely speak to staff to communicate and follow the instructions given to me by staff.
- If I feel I am going to sneeze or cough, I will direct this into a tissue or my arm or sleeve, put the tissue in the bin and will ask or follow instructions to wash/sanitise my hands whenever needed.
- In conversations with others I will try my best to be sensitive regarding the current pandemic, accepting that it affects people in different ways and consider what impact what I am saying might have,
- I understand that social distancing ruling will continue at all points throughout the school day – inside and outside.
- Staff will endeavour to provide a range of lessons which will be engaging and challenging. If at any time I feel I cannot cope with the situation or the given task, I will do my best to take responsibility for my own actions and try to talk calmly to a member of staff to indicate this so they are able to support me.
- At the end of the Academy day I will follow instructions of where to go and any follow procedures as directed by staff. This includes going straight home and not congregating outside of the Academy building.
- On returning to my home I agree to follow hygiene routines as agreed in my household to ensure the safety of my family and have a pleasant rest of my day. A useful recommendation includes showering and changing
