Student Support
Student Support
We pride ourselves on being a caring Academy and value open working partnerships with the parents/carers of our pupils. We believe that two way communication is the key to this relationship and encourage engagement at all stages of a student’s education.
Positive relationships are the key to helping our students to stay healthy and happy, both physically and mentally. The aim of all our pastoral teams is to get to know each student as an individual. The teams are willing to listen to concerns and problem solve while at the same time having high expectations of behaviour. We expect all students to live out the Academy’s values daily and demonstrate that they are ready for learning, respectful to all and safe at all times.
Broadway Academy is at the centre of the local community and mutual respect for all, irrespective of age, ability, ethnicity or gender underpins all that we do.
The pastoral team for each Year group consists of a Senior Teacher, Student Support Manager, Student Support Assistant and the Tutor Team. Pastoral Care within the Academy is pivotal to the success of our students and SSMs/SSAs monitor the progress, behaviour and attendance of pupils in order to ensure the best possible outcomes and highest standards.
Should intervention be required this is put in place using one of the many strategies that are available within the Academy. These may include extra support in class and provision for out of hours learning in term or holiday time.
Staff at Broadway truly believe in the school motto of ‘Our children, our community, believe it can be done’
