Congratulations! This week’s attendance has been consistently above 97% and our predicted GCSE results, this year, are also way above the national average. We are doing all we can to meet our school target for Progress 8, for Year 11 students of +0.4, which will put us in the top schools nationally. With all the interventions in place we also hope 55% of students achieve level 5 English and Maths.
I am also very pleased that our Year 10 Progress is very good (+0.4) and the Key Stage 3 data is also very good with our bias towards the poor paying off – we have closed the gap with Pupil Premium students.
Of course, education is more than this and our extra-curricular and community provision are comparable with the best independent schools in the country. I spent last weekend on Cannock Chase. I picked a wonderful
weekend to join 30 Broadway Year 9 students on their Duke of Edinburgh, Bronze expedition. This weekend I will be visiting our Year 11 students in Worcestershire; they are on a weekend residential where they will be taught extra Maths and English, by our highly committed and professional teachers, in preparation for their forthcoming public exams.
The last few weeks are vital to the students success; we all need to stay focused and not let anything detract us from doing our very best for all our students. Please read the information we have sent to you regarding preparing students for exams during the month of Ramadan.
Again, thank you for working with us (and for the excellent feedback we receive from parents). Recent parent surveys show extremely high satisfaction rates with the education and leadership of Broadway Academy. We have long waiting lists in every year group and unfortunately this year even siblings of children in Broadway Academy were not guaranteed a place in Year 7.
