I am pleased that our attendance this week has averaged 97%; every day counts! I try to greet all students, every day, as they arrive at school and I am pleased to see that the vast majority of our students are always on time. Students should arrive in school at 8.35am as lessons start promptly at 8.40am.
Teachers are forecasting some very good results this year (Progress 8 score of +0.2) and I am particularly pleased with the work ethic of our Year 11 and 13 students. More important than results is Broadway’s long term aim in the development of ‘Good Character’. This is achieved through all aspects of school life with a particular focus on our Values lessons and the excellent curriculum and extra-curricular activities offered. The development of Good Character remains top of my agenda. Students are encouraged to live the values of: Generosity, Respect, Responsibility, Appreciation (Gratitude), Inclusion, Optimism and Integrity. Students who live out the Broadway Values do well in their exams and go on to flourish as adults. They make excellent employees, have positive relationships and make a positive contribution to their communities.
