Guidance is a vitally important part of the school curriculum and forms an integral part of our curriculum. Some elements will be delivered via the tutor programme which will be planned with the needs of the year group in mind.
PDL days may also be organised across the whole school, bringing in experts in the form of outside speakers, external agencies and staff from other organisations – all who will contribute to the programme.
Our children are growing up in the most rapidly changing period of our history; this creates complex challenges and new opportunities.
We have mapped aspects of PDL across our curriculum subjects enabling students to form links that will support them in life beyond school, preparing them to be active citizens who are able to contribute to their community.
PDL deals with real life issues affecting children, families and communities. It is concerned with the social, health and economic realities affecting all our lives. It helps all children and young people – the highest achievers as well as the vulnerable and excluded – to achieve their fullest potential.
Careers Education Information, Advice and Guidance
At Broadway Academy we see the importance of CEIAG and all our students follow a pastoral programme that will support them in deciding on the appropriate career choices for them. Independent and impartial Careers advice is provided to all students at key transition points. We have a dedicated CEIAG centre where our Personal Advisors are available on dedicated days. We organise Career events and include performances to parents and students to make the option choices easily understood by all.
