The school admits up to 210 students each year group (7-11). All admissions in Year 6 to Year 7 are processed directly by Birmingham Education Department.
When received details are processed and pupils are placed on waiting lists according to criteria in keeping with that of Birmingham Education Department i.e.:-
- Special Educational Need/Looked after children (SEN/LACs)
Pupils are contacted via their families and interviewed for places when spaces become available.
Any appeals for places are dealt with by Birmingham Education Department.
Further details of the admissions criteria is available in the ‘Secondary Opportunities’ booklet which is distributed by the Local Authority.
From September 2015 you can apply online for a academy place for September 2016 in Year 7. Online applications must be submitted by 2 November 2015.

- is quick, easy and secure;
- is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week until the final closing date; and
- means you will receive an immediate confirmation by email that the application has been received.
The following information describes how the school admissions processes work in Birmingham, and what steps parents / carers need to take to arrange a school place for their child.
Admission to school is governed by policy determined by national government. Information about this is available from the Education and Learning section of the GOV.UK website.
You have the right to appeal against a decision if your child has been refused a school place.
If you are concerned about whether your child is eligible, we will be happy to discuss the criteria with you. In September 2008 and 2009 we were oversubscribed and have a waiting list for entry. We welcome parents and prospective students to view the school at any time but especially during the open week in September each year.
For entry next year, the arrangements for open week are as follows:
16 September 9.30 – 11.00am
17 September 9.30 – 11.0am
18 September 9.30 – 11.00am 6.00pm – 8.00pm
Anyone wishing to visit the Academy at other times should contact the Reception Desk to make arrangements in advance:
